US and Russian delegations meet on security issues

As the world faces new challenges in 2022, in the latest case, Russian Foreign Ministry officials have announced that US and Russian State Department delegations will meet soon. All essential political and military issues and the current differences between the two sides are expected to be discussed. According to reports, the US and Russian officials are also expected to discuss tensions between Moscow and Washington.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has said that US and Russian delegations will lead security talks in Geneva on January 10, 2022. The ministry added that the Russian deputy foreign minister would attend the meeting with his US counterpart. Russia has said its delegation will also meet with NATO officials on the 12th of this month and that the US, Russia, and the European Union will meet on the 13th of this month.

Russia, meanwhile, has recently moved troops to the Ukrainian border, raising concerns in the West. Russia has denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating, “Similar, baseless allegations concerning Russia’s intelligence have been made more than once. Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharov said in a statement that “during the talks, we will seek a firm guarantee from the United States that Russia will not move east and that Russia will not deploy threatening weapons systems near our borders.” ”

Today, US President Joe Biden is scheduled to speak with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in partnership with Moscow’s security plan, called on Europe to provide absolute security guarantees for Moscow. Otherwise, Russia is ready to use other options against these countries. In addition, Putin had called on NATO to withdraw former members of the former Soviet Union from NATO as soon as possible. Otherwise, Russia would take further action against NATO.
